Allen Carr's Easyway to Stop Smoking Programs - The Method

• The clinic sessions take approximately 5 hours and are held in groups of up to 18 people.
• A fully trained Allen Carr therapist conducts the sessions. Smokers are free to take a cigarette break every 50-minutes or so, and the session climaxes as the group smoke a final cigarette and throw their cigarettes and lighters on a pile at the front of the room.
• The therapist focuses on the reasons why we smoke rather than why we shouldn't. Smokers already know it is unhealthy, costly and sometimes anti-social thing to do.
• The session, using a combination of psychotherapy and hypnotherapy, removes the smokerˇŚs belief that smoking provides any sort of genuine pleasure or crutch. It removes the feeling of sacrifice and deprivation and therefore rids the smoker of the fear of stopping.
• Most smokers mistakenly fear that they will be unable to enjoy life or cope with stress without cigarettes when they quit. The Allen Carr method removes this fear.

The Easyway in Hong Kong

As Hong Kong does not have a permanent clinic, MCI / EventClicks' invites leading senior therapists from Allen Carr's EasyWay clinics in the UK to host the programs, approximately two to three times a year.

The program is approximately 5 hours long, weekend sessions are available. Participants need only attend one session. There is a maximum of 18 participants in the program.

Where there is a permanent clinic a money-back guarantee is offered, provided the participants attend a back-up session within a specified period of time. In Hong Kong however, back-up session cannot be offered as the therapist is not resident here. It is therefore not possible for the money-back guarantee to be offered hence the program fee is slightly lower than at resident clinics. Support is however available upon request via both phone and email correspondence with the therapist.
